KJS Motorsports was established in 1997. The dream began while watching racing at
Lake Geneva Raceway in Lake Geneva, WI. On a Sunday, there was a new class racing
at the track...Legends Cars. These 5/8 scale cars had style and speed for an attractive
price, which caught the eye of Chad Spark. After researching this class, that dream
became a reality.
During the first year, our team experienced what we like to call "a learning curve"...if it
could go wrong, it did. From trackside repairs to late night fixes, we worked hard to get it
right. All our efforts paid off the next year when Chad won the 1997 BG Series Semi-Pro
Championship!! Our team was further recognized with two other awards...Chad was
named Most Improved Driver and our crew chief, Billy was named Crew Chief of the Year.
Not bad for a rookie team!!
After several years with this series, it was time to move on. Chad took a break from
racing to heal his back after some track crashes. During this time, he decided when he
returned to racing, it would be in something bigger and faster.
We raced with the Mid-American Stock Cars for two years. It was a fun ride, but our local
track was sold which left no where close to race on asphalt.
In the fall of 2007, Chad was presented with the opportunity to try his hand at the
mini-sprints up at Wilmot Speedway in Wilmot,WI. Bill Bouchert had a car, but no driver. A
new friendship was ignited. Chad raced three events at the end of the season and did
well. Now that the 2008 season is upon us, we are gearing up for a fantastic year!
